Berry Basil Lemonade

A refreshing summer drink made with fresh berries, zesty lemon juice, and aromatic basil leaves. Perfectly sweet and tangy, this Berry Basil Lemonade is a delightful twist on classic lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 3/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Extra berries and basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the fresh berries, basil leaves, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove seeds and pulp.
  3. Stir in the sugar until dissolved.
  4. Add the cold water and mix well.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with additional berries and basil if desired.

Notes

  • Use honey or agave syrup as a natural sweetener alternative.
  • For a sparkling version, replace some water with soda water.
  • You can adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of your berries.
