Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade

A vibrant, color-changing Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade made with natural ingredients. Refreshing and packed with antioxidants, this magical drink transforms from blue to purple when lemon juice is added.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon dried butterfly pea flowers
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (as needed)
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup of water and pour it over the dried butterfly pea flowers in a heat-safe container.
  2. Let it steep for 5–10 minutes until the water turns a deep blue color.
  3. Strain out the flowers and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
  4. In a pitcher, combine the cooled butterfly pea tea with the remaining 1 cup of cold water and honey or simple syrup. Stir well.
  5. Add lemon juice slowly and watch the color change from blue to purple.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness to taste by adding more or less honey or syrup.
  • You can make a stronger infusion by using more butterfly pea flowers.
  • Great for parties due to its eye-catching color transformation.
  • Can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days without lemon juice added.
