Caprese Skewers

Caprese Skewers are a quick, fresh, and flavorful appetizer made with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and fresh basil, drizzled with balsamic glaze. Perfect for parties or a light snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 (8-ounce) package mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Toothpicks or small skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves thoroughly and pat dry.
  2. Drain the mozzarella balls and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. On each toothpick or small skewer, thread one cherry tomato, one basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  4. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter.
  5. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and olive oil, if using.
  6. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use heirloom cherry tomatoes for a colorful presentation.
  • Can be assembled a few hours in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
  • For added flavor, marinate mozzarella in olive oil and herbs before assembling.
