- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1½ cups brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup fresh or dried cherries, chopped
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a batter forms.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- You can substitute dried cherries if fresh cherries are not available.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top before baking.
