- 12 large marshmallows
- 1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (about 6 oz)
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter (optional, for smoother chocolate)
- Sprinkles, chopped nuts, or crushed cookies (optional, for decoration)
- 12 lollipop sticks or skewers
- Insert lollipop sticks or skewers into each marshmallow.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil in 20-30 second intervals, stirring until smooth. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler.
- Dip each marshmallow halfway into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
- If desired, roll the chocolate-dipped part in sprinkles, nuts, or crushed cookies.
- Place marshmallows on a parchment-lined tray and let them set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Notes
- You can use white or dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate.
- Colored candy melts work well for themed parties.
- Refrigeration helps set the chocolate faster but avoid leaving them too long to prevent moisture.
