Chocolate Lava Mug Cake

A quick and indulgent chocolate lava mug cake with a gooey molten center, perfect for satisfying dessert cravings in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp chocolate chips or a square of chocolate (for lava center)

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  3. Place chocolate chips or a square of chocolate in the center of the batter, pushing it down slightly.
  4. Microwave on high for 60 to 90 seconds, or until the cake has risen and is set on the edges but still soft in the center.
  5. Let cool for a minute before serving. Enjoy warm for the best lava effect.

Notes

  • Do not overcook to keep the lava center gooey.
  • Use a wide mug to prevent overflow.
