Ingredients
Scale
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream and whole milk over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
Whisk in the sugar and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
While the ice cream is churning, melt the peanut butter and chocolate chips in separate bowls, either in the microwave or over a double boiler.
Once the ice cream has finished churning, transfer it to a container, layering it with the melted peanut butter and chocolate. Use a spoon or knife to gently swirl the peanut butter and chocolate into the ice cream.
Freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours or until it is firm.
Notes
For a smoother texture, make sure the ice cream mixture is fully cooled before churning.
If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can freeze the mixture in a container and stir it every 30 minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.
