- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: banana slices, berries, nuts, or chocolate chips
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, cocoa powder, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- In a nonstick pan, add rolled oats and milk. Cook over medium heat until the oats begin to soften, about 3–4 minutes.
- Pour in the cocoa-egg mixture and stir continuously, scrambling the oats gently as they cook.
- Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the mixture thickens and looks like soft scrambled oats.
- Serve warm with your choice of toppings like banana slices, berries, or nuts.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.
- For extra creaminess, stir in a spoonful of yogurt or nut butter before serving.
- Use unsweetened cocoa powder for a healthier option.
