Chocolate Tahini Brownies

Rich and fudgy chocolate tahini brownies made with a swirl of nutty tahini for a decadent twist on a classic treat.

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, tahini, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Optional: drizzle extra tahini on top and swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

  • For a stronger tahini flavor, add an extra tablespoon on top before baking.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
  • Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
