Coconut Maple Hot Chocolate

A rich and creamy dairy-free hot chocolate made with coconut milk and naturally sweetened with maple syrup, perfect for cozy evenings.

  • 2 cups coconut milk (full-fat for creaminess)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: dairy-free whipped cream or shredded coconut for topping

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine coconut milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  2. Whisk continuously until the mixture is hot and well blended, about 5 minutes.
  3. Do not boil; just heat until steaming.
  4. Remove from heat and pour into mugs.
  5. Top with dairy-free whipped cream or shredded coconut if desired.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cinnamon or cayenne pepper.
  • Use light coconut milk if you prefer a lighter version.
