Golden Turmeric Latte

A warm, soothing beverage made with milk and turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory properties and comforting flavor. Perfect for cozy evenings or a health-boosting start to the day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger (or 1/2 inch fresh ginger, grated)
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or ghee (optional)
  • 12 tsp maple syrup or honey (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Whisk well to combine and heat until hot but not boiling, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. If using, stir in coconut oil or ghee until melted and combined.
  4. Add sweetener and vanilla extract (if using), then whisk again.
  5. Remove from heat and pour into a mug through a fine mesh strainer if needed.
  6. Enjoy warm, optionally topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

  • Black pepper enhances the absorption of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric.
  • Use plant-based milk like almond, oat, or coconut for a vegan version.
  • Fresh ginger can be substituted for ground ginger for a more vibrant taste.
