Grilled Cheese & Tomato Sandwiches

A classic comfort food, Grilled Cheese & Tomato Sandwiches combine crispy golden bread with melty cheese and juicy tomato slices for a satisfying and simple meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Place two slices, butter-side down, onto the skillet.
  4. Layer each with 2 slices of cheese and tomato slices. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
  6. Cook for 2–4 minutes per side or until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use ripe tomatoes for best flavor.
  • Swap cheddar with mozzarella or your favorite cheese for variation.
  • For a crunchier texture, grill on a panini press.
