Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

Tender and juicy chicken thighs glazed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for a quick and flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)
  • Chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and black pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken thighs with salt and sear skin-side down until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3 minutes.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken thighs in the skillet.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. For a thicker sauce, remove chicken after baking and place the skillet on the stovetop. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl and stir into the sauce. Simmer until thickened.
  7. Return chicken to the sauce, spoon sauce over the top, and garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Serve hot with rice or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • Boneless thighs can be used but reduce the baking time to 20–25 minutes.
  • Adjust the amount of honey to taste if you prefer it less sweet.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to control saltiness.
