Hot Buttered Rum

A classic warm cocktail made with butter, spices, dark rum, and hot water, perfect for cozy evenings or holiday gatherings.

  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 1 dash vanilla extract
  • 4 oz hot water
  • Cinnamon stick, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mug, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and vanilla extract. Mix well to form a paste.
  2. Pour in the dark rum and stir to combine with the butter-spice mixture.
  3. Add the hot water and stir until the mixture is smooth and well-blended.
  4. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can prepare a spiced butter mixture in advance and store it in the fridge for quick servings.
  • Adjust the spices to your taste for a stronger or milder flavor.
  • Use high-quality dark rum for the best taste.
