Maple Syrup Cookies

Soft and chewy cookies sweetened with pure maple syrup, offering a warm, comforting flavor perfect for autumn or holiday treats.

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, maple syrup, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra maple flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon maple extract.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • You can drizzle with maple glaze for added sweetness.
