Matcha Tiramisu

A Japanese twist on the classic Italian dessert, Matcha Tiramisu combines layers of matcha-soaked ladyfingers with a creamy mascarpone filling for a light, earthy, and indulgent treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder (plus more for dusting)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (for matcha mixture)
  • 1620 ladyfinger biscuits
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup sugar (for cream mixture)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz mascarpone cheese, softened
  • Optional: white chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk hot water, matcha powder, and 2 tbsp sugar until fully dissolved. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream, 1/3 cup sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  3. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth and combined.
  4. Quickly dip ladyfingers into the matcha mixture and layer them in the bottom of a serving dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  6. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  8. Dust with additional matcha powder before serving. Garnish with white chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

  • Do not soak ladyfingers too long to avoid sogginess.
  • Chill overnight for best flavor and texture.
  • Use high-quality matcha for vibrant color and flavor.
