Ingredients
Scale
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
2 tablespoons matcha powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Instructions
In a saucepan, heat the milk and heavy cream over medium heat until warm, but not boiling.
Add the white chocolate chips and stir until fully melted and smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk the matcha powder with the sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
Slowly pour the warm milk and cream mixture into the matcha mixture, whisking continuously to combine.
Once fully combined, let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until cold.
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
Ensure the milk and cream mixture doesn’t boil to avoid curdling.
If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can freeze the mixture in a shallow container and stir every 30 minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.
Adjust the matcha powder to taste, depending on your preferred level of matcha flavor.
