Mini Caprese Skewers

Bite-sized Caprese salad on cocktail skewers—juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella balls and fresh basil drizzled with balsamic glaze—perfect for quick, no-cook entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 cherry tomatoes
  • 24 mini fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine)
  • 24 small fresh basil leaves
  • 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic glaze (or reduction)
  • 1⁄4 tsp flaky sea salt
  • 1⁄8 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 24 cocktail picks or 4-inch bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. Pat the mozzarella balls dry with a paper towel so they don’t make the skewers watery.
  2. Thread one cherry tomato, one basil leaf (fold if large) and one mozzarella ball onto each cocktail pick. Repeat to make 24 skewers.
  3. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter in a single layer.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the skewers, followed by the balsamic glaze.
  5. Finish with a light sprinkle of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the mozzarella in olive oil, garlic and herbs for 30 minutes before assembling.
  • Use heirloom cherry tomatoes for a colorful presentation.
  • If making ahead, add the glaze just before serving to keep basil vibrant.
