Mini Churros with Chocolate Dip

Delicious bite-sized mini churros that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, served with a rich and creamy chocolate dip. Perfect for parties or as a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup white sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for chocolate dip)
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped (for chocolate dip)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for chocolate dip)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
  2. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
  3. Heat oil for frying in a deep-fryer or deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  5. Pipe small strips (about 2-3 inches long) of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  6. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and roll the churros in the mixture to coat.
  7. For the chocolate dip, heat cream in a small saucepan until just simmering. Remove from heat and add chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth and glossy. Add butter if desired for extra richness.
  8. Serve mini churros warm with chocolate dip.

Notes

  • Use a strong piping bag to prevent breakage when squeezing out the dough.
  • You can make the churros longer or shorter as desired.
  • Churros are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven for a few minutes.
