- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil for frying (if using frying method)
- Powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar for topping
- Preheat your mini donut maker or heat oil in a deep pan if frying.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into a piping bag or zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.
- Pipe the batter into the greased mini donut molds or drop spoonfuls into hot oil.
- Cook for about 2–3 minutes on each side (if frying) or until golden brown in the donut maker.
- Remove and let cool slightly on a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar or roll in cinnamon sugar while still warm.
Notes
- You can add a pinch of nutmeg for a classic donut flavor.
- Try dipping in melted chocolate or adding sprinkles for a fun variation.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
