Nachos with Cheese Dip

A delicious and easy-to-make snack featuring crispy nachos served with a creamy, cheesy dip – perfect for parties or casual gatherings.

  • 200g tortilla chips
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure there are no lumps.
  4. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 3–5 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add salt, garlic powder, and chili powder if using. Mix well.
  7. Serve the cheese dip warm with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • You can use different types of cheese for variety, like pepper jack or mozzarella.
  • Add jalapeños or diced tomatoes to the cheese dip for extra flavor.
  • Keep the dip warm using a small slow cooker or warming dish when serving at parties.
