Pineapple Lime Sorbet Ice Cream

A refreshing and tangy sorbet made with pineapple and lime, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups fresh pineapple, chopped
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blend the pineapple in a food processor or blender until smooth.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Once the sugar syrup is cooled, mix it with the pineapple puree and lime juice.
  4. If desired, stir in lime zest for an extra burst of flavor.
  5. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow pan and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes until it reaches a sorbet texture.
  7. Once the sorbet is ready, serve immediately or store it in the freezer until ready to serve.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar depending on the sweetness of the pineapple.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the pineapple puree before mixing with the sugar syrup.
  • This sorbet can also be made ahead of time and stored in the freezer.
