Pineapple Mint Agua Fresca

A refreshing and hydrating Mexican-style beverage made with fresh pineapple, mint, and a touch of lime. Perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh pineapple, chopped
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 12 tablespoons honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Extra mint sprigs and pineapple slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine chopped pineapple, mint leaves, lime juice, and cold water.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher to remove pulp, if desired.
  4. Taste and stir in honey or sugar if additional sweetness is needed.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator or serve immediately over ice.
  6. Garnish with mint sprigs and pineapple slices if desired.

Notes

  • Use ripe pineapple for maximum sweetness and flavor.
  • Adjust mint and lime juice to your preference.
  • Can be made a few hours in advance and kept chilled.
