Prosciutto-Wrapped Melon

A simple, elegant appetizer combining sweet melon and savory prosciutto for a refreshing and flavorful bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe cantaloupe or honeydew melon
  • 12 thin slices of prosciutto
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the melon in half, remove seeds, and slice into 12 wedges. Remove the rind.
  2. Wrap each melon slice with a slice of prosciutto.
  3. If desired, tuck a fresh basil leaf between the melon and prosciutto for added flavor.
  4. Arrange on a serving platter.
  5. Drizzle lightly with balsamic glaze and season with freshly ground black pepper, if using.
  6. Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use ripe, sweet melon for best flavor.
  • Can be made a few hours ahead and chilled.
  • Try substituting prosciutto with serrano ham or speck if desired.
