Ingredients
Scale
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
1 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup brown sugar (for caramel sauce)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for caramel sauce)
1/4 cup heavy cream (for caramel sauce)
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
Prepare the salted caramel by melting butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add brown sugar and stir until smooth.
Slowly add heavy cream to the caramel mixture while stirring constantly. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool.
Stir in the salted caramel sauce into the ice cream mixture.
Pour the ice cream mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Once the ice cream reaches soft-serve consistency, fold in the crushed pretzels.
Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Serve with extra pretzels and caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
Make sure the caramel sauce has cooled before adding it to the ice cream mixture to prevent curdling.
If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can freeze the mixture in a container, stirring every 30 minutes for the first 2-3 hours to achieve a creamy consistency.
