Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (green or purple)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (for sauce)
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side or until opaque and cooked through. Remove from heat.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix shredded cabbage, cilantro, red onion, and 1 tbsp lime juice to make the slaw.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, 1 tbsp lime juice, and hot sauce to make the creamy sauce.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  6. Assemble the tacos by layering slaw, shrimp, and a drizzle of creamy sauce on each tortilla.
  7. Serve immediately with extra lime wedges if desired.

Notes

  • You can grill the shrimp instead of pan-cooking for extra flavor.
  • Adjust spice level by increasing or decreasing cayenne and hot sauce.
  • Use avocado slices or pico de gallo for added toppings.
