Strawberry Cream Swirl Ice Cream

Strawberry Cream Swirl Ice Cream is a delicious homemade treat that combines the sweetness of strawberries with a rich and creamy base, swirled together for a refreshing, indulgent dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (for ice cream base)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and lemon juice. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes to macerate.
  2. Once the strawberries release their juice, mash them lightly with a fork or potato masher to create a chunky sauce.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, 3/4 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Fold the mashed strawberries into the cream mixture, ensuring an even distribution of strawberry swirls.
  5. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  6. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  7. Scoop and serve once it has firmed up.

Notes

  • For a smoother ice cream, you can puree the strawberries instead of mashing them.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, freeze the mixture in a shallow pan and stir every 30 minutes for the first few hours to break up ice crystals.
