Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers

These Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers are a spicy, cheesy appetizer made with jalapeño peppers filled with a creamy cheese mixture and optionally wrapped in bacon. Perfect for parties or game day snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 fresh jalapeño peppers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 slices of bacon (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes using a spoon (use gloves to avoid irritation).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.
  5. If using bacon, wrap a slice around each stuffed jalapeño half and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  6. Place poppers on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation.
  • Substitute bacon with turkey bacon or omit for a vegetarian option.
  • Can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
  • For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
