Tangerine Basil Sparkler

A refreshing and vibrant non-alcoholic beverage made with fresh tangerine juice, basil, and sparkling water — perfect for a summer gathering or a light brunch drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh tangerine juice (about 45 tangerines)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 45 fresh basil leaves, plus more for garnish
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice cubes
  • Tangerine slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker or mason jar, muddle the basil leaves with honey (if using) and lemon juice until fragrant.
  2. Add the fresh tangerine juice and shake well to combine.
  3. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the mixture through a strainer into the glass.
  4. Top with sparkling water and gently stir.
  5. Garnish with a basil leaf and a slice of tangerine. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use agave syrup for a vegan version.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste or omit sweetener for a tangier drink.
  • Chill ingredients beforehand for an extra cold sparkler.
