Tart Cherry Mulled “Wine”

A warm and comforting non-alcoholic mulled drink made with tart cherry juice, infused with spices, perfect for chilly evenings or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups tart cherry juice
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 star anise
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine tart cherry juice, orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and ginger.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 20–30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. Stir in honey or maple syrup (if using) and vanilla extract.
  5. Strain the mixture to remove the solids.
  6. Serve warm in mugs, optionally garnished with a cinnamon stick or orange slice.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to taste with honey or maple syrup.
  • For a stronger spice flavor, simmer longer or add more spices.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat gently before serving.
