- 1 orange, sliced
- 6 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 star anise
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- In a medium saucepan, combine tart cherry juice, orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and ginger.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 20–30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Stir in honey or maple syrup (if using) and vanilla extract.
- Strain the mixture to remove the solids.
- Serve warm in mugs, optionally garnished with a cinnamon stick or orange slice.
