Tomato and Mozzarella Skewers

A simple, fresh, and colorful appetizer featuring juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil leaves served on skewers, perfect for parties or light snacks.

Ingredients

  • 20 cherry tomatoes
  • 20 fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 20 wooden or bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. Wash and pat dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
  2. Drain the mozzarella balls and pat them dry.
  3. On each skewer, thread one tomato, one basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball. Repeat if using longer skewers.
  4. Arrange the skewers on a serving platter.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  6. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate mozzarella balls in olive oil, garlic, and herbs for 1-2 hours before assembling.
  • You can use different colored cherry tomatoes for a vibrant look.
  • These are best served fresh to preserve the texture of basil and mozzarella.
