Tomato Basil Flatbread

A light and flavorful flatbread topped with juicy tomatoes, fresh basil, and melty cheese, perfect as an appetizer or light meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 flatbread or naan
  • 2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: balsamic glaze for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the flatbread on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush the top of the flatbread with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  4. Arrange the tomato slices evenly over the flatbread.
  5. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven and top with fresh basil leaves.
  8. Optional: drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

Notes

  • Use heirloom tomatoes for added color and flavor.
  • Flatbread can be replaced with pita or lavash.
  • For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes.
